Article and interview was just published today in The Huffington Post, regarding my thoughts in the sublime in art.  Interview was conducted with Brandon Kralik.  This was mainly a follow up to my talk given at TRAC 2014 in March of this year. (I will post that vid later).  I do not claim to be a scholar on the subject, I'm not a philosopher or aesthetician--just a guy who slings paint, and who has some ideas to share on the matter.  Please enjoy.

"Watchers" Exhibit Sells Out Opening Night

New Video Released--"Watchers" Paintings by Steven DaLuz

Just had a new video released yesterday on You Tube. It contains most of the painting in my "Watchers" series, set to open Dec 14th, 2011 at AnArte Gallery in San Antonio, TX. The vide was produced by Mia Feigelson of Argentina. It is in Hi-definition, so it can be viewed in Full Screen, and contains close up details of some of the works to show actual textures of the works. The beautiful music is "Lux Aurumqe", composed and directed by Eric Whiracre. "Lux Aurumque" means "light & gold"...please enjoy and share :)

"Sentinel" Wins 1st Place Gold Medal for Painting

My painting titled, "Sentinel" was accepted into the "Night of 100 Angels" exhibition at Whelan Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. The opening is scheduled for Aug 20, 2011, and the show ends Sept 20, 2011. While Prevailed ("Wounded Angel)", Red Winged Angel, and Gilded Wings also made it into the exhibition, I was pleased to learn that "Sentinel" took 1st Place honors and a gold medal in the juried exhibition. The works will all be published in a book titled, "Night of 100 Angels".

"Odyssey" in Finals for Saatchi Online "Showdown"

On a fluke, I entered this piece, "Odyssey (After Bierstadt)", 48" x 48", into the Saatchi Online Showdown. The entry was free, and the winner has a chance for exhibition of the work in the fabulous Saatchi Gallery in London. So, why not? I thought nothing more about it until I learned it had made into the final 128, after surviving a field of 5,716 entries! At the time of this writing, it appears I may make it into the final round of 16.
